Okay, let me tell you something, internet.
There already is a national anti-bullying week. It’s in the beginning of November. If you want anti-bullying in general behavior, look it the fuck up. Why am I the only person on tumblr who knows about this? This isn’t about bullying in general and it isn’t about trying to co-opt a day that is about boys who died because of heterosexism for straight people. This is not about you. Why is this so fucking difficult for the internet to understand? This is not. About. Straight. People. This is about the queer community - fuck, that’s why it’s purple in the first place. If you don’t highlight gay people who are killing themselves because people bullied them for being gay or suspected of being gay then you are erasing queer experiences. You are erasing queer people, and that’s exactly what led to these suicides in the first place. Heterosexism. You are participating in it. Good job, assholes. How on earth is this “better.” Because straight narratives get included? STRAIGHT NARRATIVES ARE ALREADY INCLUDED. EVERYWHERE ELSE. ALL THE TIME. These are people who killed themselves because of heterosexism perpetrated by heterosexist people who probably identified as straight how many italics must I use today before people start getting the point.
So shut the fuck up and have your anti-bullying feelings in November.
