FooCamp ‘07 is the same weekend as SF Pride. And Chicago’s, and the culmination of New York City’s. I mention this because I’ve been annoyed lately at what I perceive as an obliviousness to queer… well, anything, by the current forefront of the web-o-sphere. Ignoring that for a moment, I can say with certainty that there were some queer people invited to FooCamp last year, and I imagine there will be some this year, so why potentially create a scheduling conflict? Or maybe I’m assuming that cutting-edge queer techies and pundits are coming from certain locales and are actually interested in local Pride events. I don’t know; I’m definitely not looking at this objectively, so there may be nothing here. But I feel irked all the same.
