I saw this book today and I thought, “Yeah, everyone’s getting on the web these days, accessibility can be a big issue that developers should keep in mind.” Then I read the back cover.
No. It’s for people of a certain age who want to build a website for themselves.
At first I had this quaint, melodramatic thought about not always being able to recognize the future that’s manifesting. Then I remembered several years ago, before my grandfather died, trying to explain to him exactly what I did for a living, and how well that didn’t go. So okay, someone identified a need and wrote a book to fit it.
Here’s a bumper sticker for 2015: Your mom called; she said she’s worried, your website doesn’t validate anymore.
